I am very surprised by that also.

The song was featured on the 2009 edition of Guitar Hero, which I suspect would have allowed it to reclaim relevance among not just those who knew the song when it was released, but a younger audience as well.

Secondly, who gives a shit if anyone under 30 gets the reference? They don't read the newspaper anyway. It's the old farts who don't get it that you have to worry about. :D

I bet a much higher percentage of people under 30 would get it than people over 55.

2009 Guitar Hero is almost six years old now.

And Guitar Hero isn't really very relevant anymore.

Neither of which negates my point.

It certainly doesn't negate your second point, which was spot on.

On Wikipedia, it says Weezer has released three self-titled albums? That's pretty douchey.

But, it was funny in Couples Retreat. #friendtoldme

I'm not sure any of them really were self-titled intentionally, a la Bon Iver by Bon Iver. They are more akin to The Beatles' white album and Metallica's black album, as far as naming. But two of the three (green and red) are terrible.

Peter Gabriel officially had four self-titled albums though the last one was called Security in North America.

    Shock The Monkey, etc.
