NEW YORK (AP) -- Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd announced Thursday he will run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008, saying problems at home and abroad meant it was time for him to "get out of the bleachers and onto the arena floor."

Any Chrissy/Teddy party pictures will sink this, posthaste . . . not that it's not already stillborn.

    Keep your day job, Chris.

I think most of these guys are getting in now just so they can say years later to their grandkids and such, "yeah, I was a candidate for president." And it'll embellish over the years to come and make for a great family story.

Dodd showed up here in Des Moines today for Culver's Inauguration. Tom Harkin was following him around throughout the place like a puppydog looking to lick something.

    It was atrocious to watch.
