Ben, same pod, not necessarily same bracket.

Only way UConn and Pitt would be in the same bracket is if they're seeded 1-2. I doubt that would happen.

I covered that subregional in Boise, and it was one of the reasons the NCAA started keeping schools close to home.
The eight teams that went to Boise in 2001:
Arkansas, Georgetown, George Mason, Hampton, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Maryland, Georgia State

Closest school was probably Iowa State, a good 1500 miles away?

Jeff Teague is an interesting player.

He posterized Dave Neal in a win over Maryland a few weeks ago, looking much like the type of stud capable of helping his team make a Final Four run.

Then a few weeks later, he looked totally, utterly lost against that same woefully mediocre Terps team, who basically kicked Wake's ass.

Wake Forest is going to be a trendy team to get upset early. But if Teague is playing well, they can easily get to the Final Four.

Beware when you are filling out those brackets.

Does anyone get the brackets before CBS announces them? Does it ever get leaked early?

Just the people at the soundstage where all college basketball games were staged in September.

Only surprise might have been UConn. But after Michigan State lost, the only other legit possibility was Memphis. And its league was just a bit too weak, I guess.
