    interleague play sucks.

It was a novelty at first, then it became annoying. The 'rivalry' games died with Big Stein. Yanks v Mets was the only one that had feel of a rivalry and that was because George made it so.

Now? No one cares. The loss of the intraleague rivalry hurts more than the interleague games have interest.

Anybody looking forward to St.Louis v Baltimore? The Browns v Cards?

AND Either do away with the DH, institute it for both leagues.

  2. You (and me) are in the vast minority I'm afraid, but I agree.

At this point, just make it a balanced schedule and quit even calling it interleague play.

I used to love this as a kid.

Now, with interleague games every day? It's awful.

Yeah, that thread title is pretty bad.

I thought this was an annivesary in the Civil Rights Movement.

Made me think it was about E.W. Jackson.

As far as interleague play, it's no longer a novelty no matter how it's done. So treat it like regular games. Fine with me. Works in every other sport.

Yeah, but the problem is the DH thing.

Well, if Bodie thinks it's racist, then I'm convinced.

(Though, let's be honest, heyabbott is not the most sensitive poster.)

    Granted, officially I'm offended.

On the topic, though, it'd be hard to imagine at this point a season without an A's-Giants series. I'm sure Chicagoans have gotten to feeling the same way about Cubs-Sox, and New Yorkers about Mets-Yankees.

If the "drawback" is that the Giants play a couple of games in Toronto for no reason, that really isn't a whole lot different than playing a couple of games in Pittsburgh.
