The Marshall Independent, an award-winning six-day-a-week Ogden newspaper in southwest Minnesota, is seeking an energetic full-time sports writer with strong people skills and an ability to work independently, as well as with a small team.

The Independent covers 10 area high schools, as well as Division II Southwest Minnesota State University. The right candidate will cover high school and college athletics and write features, blogs and columns, connect with readers and followers through social media, ocassionally sit desk and lay out pages and contribute to special editions.

Photography and Quark skills are a must for this position.
