just received a statement from the chargers, giving their blessing to junior to sign with the patriots, who want to sign him if he passes a physical. funny stuff. didn't he just have a retirement presser, like, two minutes ago? ??? ??? ??? ???

It wasn't a retirement presser, it was a graduation presser. He just graduated from the Dolphins to the Patriots.

this kind of thing is really fucking annoying. i mean it's fine if he's going to the pats but is he that vainglorious that he needs the retirement/graduation celebration to stroke his ego when he wasn't 100 percent sure he'd retire? what a doofus.

Why did he need permission from the Chargers to go to the Pats? Did he sign a one-day contract to "retire" a Charger?

EDIT: Didn't realize Seau was cut by Miami, here's a link to the story -- http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9608451

Dolphins are going to handle those guys easily this season.

    Twice.

This fossil, who sucked with the Dolphins and his last couple years in SD, is a sign of how desperately bad the situation is at The Razor.

In all fairness, it looked like he was out of football. The Dolphns were through with him and it didn't look like anyone was going to make him a reasonable offer. So he did the retirement thing. Only reason the Pats came calling is that things are looking dire there at linebacker with Tedy Bruschi's broken hand. Not that any news comes out of there worth a damn, but they are probably regretting letting Willie McGinest walk now. This could either make Belichick look pretty bad or like a genius once again. Seau is probably going to be put into the middle backer spot in the Pats' 3-4, not a role he's used to. I'm having trouble picturing it without seeing it. At least he got a taste of the 3- 4 with Nick Saban last year, so he's not starting from scratch, even if he is used to playing on the outside.

Can't wait for him to be injured when he dances around after tackling a guy who GAINS yards. He's WAY past his effectiveness and he's too injury prone.
