    Yep, this one is close to Tahoe!

    The Reno Gazette-Journal, a Gannett newspaper is looking for a sports editor to oversee all aspects of sports coverage in a seven-person department. Requirements: The editor needs to have strong leadership and communication skills, a vision for expanding our online prep sports content, and a commitment to enterprise coverage. Responsibilities include writing, editing and paginating. A minimum of five years experience, a BA in Journalism and some management experience preferred. We offer an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401K, retirement, tuition reimbursement and opportunity for advancement.     I've always liked Reno since I had a recruiting visit there in high school. Love Tahoe, of course, and the downtown casino area is walkable and has a couple of nice places (Siena is sharp) next to the river. That said, this can't pay a great deal and there isn't a whole lot there besides the Wolfpack. Good spot for an up-and-coming editor, perhaps.

    Ah, Reno...pay might not be great, but you don't need much coin if you eat Awful-Awfuls at the Nugget Diner every day.

  11. Seven people does indeed sound low. I was thinking that maybe the desk was separate from sports, but apparently the sports editor has to be able to paginate..........!
