I don't have the patience to find the most recent Redskins name controversy thread, so I'll start another.

Dan Snyder pulls off a big PR coup by having the president of the Navajo Nation, Ben Shelly, and his wife sitting with him in his box at the Redskins-Cardinals game yesterday in Arizona. And not just sitting with him, but wearing Redskins hats.

Isn't this the umpteenth Native American guy Snyder has trotted out to prove he's not racist?

How can I be bigoted?! I have a Native American/black/Asian/Arab/Latino/gay friend!

 

Snyder is clearly banking on the idea that most football fans just don't pay attention to the details that matter.

 

I believe Chief Wild Eagle of the Hekawi tribe will be Dan's guest at the next home game...

 

Will he bring Crazy Cat with him?

 

Snyder brings more attention to the name controversy than Mike Wise.
