I risk banishment from the board when I say Scoop a loop wasn't that bad on Outside the Lines the other day when they were talking about Marbury's $15 shoes.

Although I have roundly and rightly trashed Scoop in the past, I will say a couple things:

    1) He is showing some gradual improvement in his written stuff. A lot of two steps forward, one step back stuff, but little by little he does seem to be making some incremental progress.

    2) Usually, live on camera, he comes off relatively well -- since TV commentary is built upon fragmentary thoughts, blurted-out sound bites, and disjointed rambling, he's as good at that as a lot of more consistently good writers are.

So ESPN's page 2 is in large part a practice field for the underqualified?

Hell, we already knew that . . . Bill.

This column is one of his better efforts. He has used full sentences, complete with nouns and verbs, and in the correct order.

I think this goes in his clip file when he tries to get a writing job.

I didn't wake up today expecting to read Jason Whitlock talk about his pimp hand.
