Science proves Freddie Mercury is the greatest singer of all time

Well, not exactly, but it jibes with my opinion, so I'll fudge it a little bit:

New scientific study confirms the obvious: Freddie Mercury had an unparalleled singing voice

 

Sounds about right. We're done this here before, I think other finalists would be Elvis, George Michael, Rufus Wainwright and some others I'm forgetting.

I read a story in Rolling Stone last year that said something to the effect that he had four extra teeth that may have increased his vocal range.

 

A documentary I saw once said he didn't have extra teeth, but preserving his range was the reason he never got his jacked-up front teeth fixed.

 

Is this a male only study? Because I will throw Karen Carpenter up against anyone, male or female.

And Natalie Merchant would be close behind.

 

Joan Baez is my top female singer.

 

Her case is a little thin.
