    No he pretty much stayed the same. He would talk when coaxed by team PR but in general, he was silent.

    Tom Seaver was this guy to me. Blew me off in a spring training dugout when I was writing columns for a MLB market daily. Minutes later spontaneously plopped down for 20 minutes with an SI guy, while I still was standing there. (Nothing SI pre-arranged either, that scribe said. Just classic big-leaguing move by Tom "Terrific.")
