That's a terrible story.  If it's true, I hope Arthur feels the full effect of 'Saved By the Bell' fans' wrath rain down on him.

but seriously, a lot of hollywood not-quite-a-listers can be in serious financial trouble. They really didn't make a lot of money as child stars on afternoon specials and when the 15 minutes faded, they had nothing to show for it.

Heck, Gary Coleman relocated to Utah and bought a nice house in the country last year because he couldn't afford to live in California any longer.

 

He said that his parents blew most of his money because for most of his time on the show he was a minor. By the time he was 18 most of it was gone. He said he's losing his house because he signed a funky loan, wasn't a typical mortgage because he has a hard time getting one since he doesn't have a steady job.

I'm sure Mr. Belding will take him in.

The Gary Coleman thing is depressing. He's done some ads locally for a check-to-loan service that looked pretty skanky.

 

Screech (Dustin Diamond) was the nerd in a long-running tween show in the 90s. It starred Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley and Tiffany-amber Thiesen among others. Tori Spelling played his geeky girlfriend in a few episodes and the show was produced by her daddy.
