My wife and I are looking to relocate to Savannah, Georgia soon. I know about the Savannah Morning News, but are there any other newspapers or publications I could send resumes to in the area?

The only dailies within 50 miles are Statesboro and the Hilton Head paper, if I'm not mistaken. Every county adjacent to Chatham has at least a weekly, and I think in the case of Hinesville it's twice or three times a week.

Hinesville is three times a week and is supposed to be looking for a sports guy. The paper in Rincon, about 20 miles from downtown, just went 3 days a week and is looking for a sports guy too. I think Statesboro's SE is moving on, from what I heard, if he hasn't already. Again, I don't know that for sure.
Hinesville may - may - look at bumping its frequency in the near future. Town of about 32,000, community of 62K, but about a third of them are about to be back in Iraq for tour of duty number three.
I haven't heard of any openings at Sav'h or Hilton Head in a while.

    Thanks for your help.

  10. There's two papers in Hilton Head, guys. One's McClatchy, the other a Morris tab. The tab's probably the better paper, from what I can tell.

I'm sure Jeff Kidd and his staff's stack of awards would dissagree with you.

  12. I'm sure Jeff Kidd has a stack of awards, but then again, a lot of journos do. Big deal. Awards laud past performance, and some press associations give them out like candy. Fact is, the Packet's playing catch-up to Bluffton Today... it even went so far to redesign in response. Not sure that's gonna help.
