    Job Status: Full-time
    Salary: Not Specified
    Ad Expires: April 16, 2013

    Description:

The Meridian Star is seeking a talented sports writer with pagination experience. Familiarity with sports writing is a must. The successful candidate will possess layout skills, with experience in QuarkXpress preferred. The sports writer will be an integral part of The Star's two-man sports team, which is responsible for covering 19 high schools, as well as college sports. The Star's increasing emphasis on youth sports means the person hired must be willing to cover area youth soccer and baseball games as needed. Send your resume and three writing samples to The Meridian Star editor Michael Stewart at editor@themeridianstar.com.

Jamie Wachter, the sports editor, is a great guy who busts his ass. But it's CNHI, so I cannot recommend this job.

I can visualize it, really ... "Local boy Blitz gets called home to save his hometown paper ..."

It's too late for that now, though. Too much water's passed already under the Blitz Bridge.
Good luck to whoever takes it.
