What about the Full House episode where Michele's goldfish croaked? :D

I always felt the Wonder Years finale was quite sad, though you never find out how Kevin's father died.

There was the episode of Different Strokes where Kimberly Drummond kills herself by overdosing on sleeping pills...

Oh wait, that was real life...

NO .. the SADDEST Saved by the Bell moment was when the oil spill happened on the Bayside campus, covering the ponds' animals in oil.

    Poor Becky the Duck. :'(

Actually you bring up a good point, you could also consider the way the show started ... with Winnie's brother being killed in Vietnam.

Years ago, I had heard MASH series co-creator Larry Gelbart interviewed about the war scenes mixed with the humor in general, and he said even CBS was a little concerned about the kind of show was being put on here.

I believe Gelbart said one CBS exec asked him, "What are you trying to put on here? A comedic tragedy?"

Trying to remember. Didn't the Wonder Years end with Kevin finally banging Winnie?

Also, didn't Doogie Howser have break-up sex with Wanda in the series finale?

I also have to stick in an honorable mention for an "All In The Family" episode which starts with Archie finding that some jerk has painted a swastika on the front door of the house and the episode ends with the cast reacting to the car-bomb blast of the guy from a pro-Jewish group who came to investigate it.

THe stunned look on the cast's faces and the silence the show ends in are very sad.

I believe Kevin did bang Winnie ... but they didn't end up getting married, that was explained in the same sequence where they said Kevin's dad died a few years later.
