    I read "Growing Up" in college and remember enjoying it, though I can't remember the content exactly. He definitely had an amazing career. But he was so far removed from his best stuff at the time of his death -- he was 93, just a year younger than Truman Capote -- that I suspect a lot of people (including me) thought he'd died a lot time ago. RIP

    EDIT: He hosted Masterpiece theater till 2004? I had no idea. Guess he was probably hitting the radars of a certain set for a lot longer than I knew.
