"It's a myth that goldfish will grow only as big, or as small, as the tank that houses them. But it can be true of writers. After spending most of the last 10 years in this 800-word box, I don't want to find myself straining against its sides, like a mime. Nobody likes a mime."

Well, he is a writer. What else would he do? He'll make nice money as a freelancer for a mag or a Web site or surely do a great job. He exhausted this column a few years ago and he probably knew it.

Ah. It'd be nice if I was actually getting mine. My mom spent too much money at BestBuy, got a free subscription to SI and signed me up for it when I already had one. Now I have two subscriptions and have been getting it every other week. Good times.
