"ESPN, and the United States Golf Association, proudly present a national championship ..."

And they give us CHRIS FREAKING BERMAN on the pbp? Geez.

  2. I think we've had this discussion in years past, but it doesn't make it any more relevant. I'd rather eat a pine cone than hear Berman.

David Toms, take it easy. Same to you, Davis Love III. Enjoy your weekends.

You're much kinder than I, DBFBT. I would rather have a tabasco enema followed by a pine cone suppository than listen to Berman. ARRRRGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

  4. I am the neckwear belonging to the Executive Director of the USGA. I have to guard my comments. Now, if you have any Rules questions, I'm game.

Are there any rules prohibiting players from carrying an extra driver for the sole purpose of using Mr. Berman's kneecap as a practice shot?

In case anyone is wondering about Friday's TV schedule, Berman just said it's "same bat time, same bat channel." He followed that moments later with "if he does well in the New York area this week we're going to have to call him (Kenneth) 'Staten Island' Ferrie I guess." Somebody jam a pitching wedge down his throat now.

Now he just said Dean Wilson should have marked a ball that was still moving followed by Jeff "Seattle" Sluman. Damn, this is going to be a long day listening to this douche bag.

  7. Patience gents. NBC picks up the coverage in the afternoon today and tomorrow before taking it over completely on Saturday and Sunday. The you won't have to listen to the Bermeister.

    there certainly shouldn't be.

  9. As long as there's only 14 in the bag, we don't ask for what purpose the clubs are.

Berman is the worst. Why the USGA wanted him on there (it was their request three years ago) is beyond comprehension. Berman jumped the shark 20 years ago.

And yet all of my friends think Berman is awesome. Then again, they love ESPN and enjoy watching Sportscenter eight times a day. I try to clue them in how much of a disgrace Berman is, how DJ Stu is quite possibly the biggest tool in the history of biggest tools and they still love it.

'Aw man, those nicknames for the players, the style of the presenatation, it's all fresh...it's dat new-age stuff mannn'

this is something a lot of us in the business fail to understand.

We don't like them, but the commoners do. I have a friend who loves berman, loves stuey, loves espn and what they've done for sports coverage. I can't convince him otherwise. even my family thinks EsPN is great.
