All our classroom doors are default locked from the inside. There isn't even an option to "unlock" them. You have to have a key to enter from the hallway or be let in.
The building opened in 1966, so locking doors aren't exactly a new thing,

It’s weird, I have both. One door is as you describe, there’s no option to keep it unlocked. My partner calls it a Columbine door. The other can be unlocked and left that way. I use it as a critical thinking test for the kids. One is always locked. The other is always open. When kids come in, I routinely tell people one of the doors is unlocked, let them figure it out. Don’t open the door just because they didn’t bother to try the right one.

There will be no rage from Trumpists. They are not upset. The more deaths, the more guns sold.

If Arredondo has collected even a penny in salary since May 24, he needs to pay it back. If he was any kind of man at all, he already would have done so. He then needs to resign his position on the school police force, quit city council, and never be seen in public again.

If he had even a speck of honor, he’d do all of the above today.

If he had even a speck of honor he’d eat a bullet.

The fear of God the weapon this kid had on law enforcement is staggering.

This is the biggest argument against the general public owning them.

I guess "To protect (our own lives first and foremost) and to serve (as an impediment to public safety)" doesn't fit as neatly on a squad car door.

If he had a speck of honor, we’d be talking the heroism of the officers and not their cowardice. The coward hid while children died and now the coward hides when people ask him to stand to account. He has no honor.

That said, we’re not Klingons. We shouldn’t be asking him to eat his gun.
