I really hope Rudy Gay takes his idea from this guy...

 

He's gotta use the kiss-the-rim.

 

If Dwight Howard wins it, it's not going to be with his "Kiss the Rim" dunk. He has one that Andre Igoudala did two years ago, where he throws it off the backboard to himself and tucks under and throws it down. But Jamario Moon might leap from a few inches in front of the 3-point line, so they may end the competition right there.

 

Who gets screwed this year?

OK, just watched the Moon youtube. If he pulls that out, Howard's toast.

And I didn't mean kiss-the-rim would be the winner. But it's got a pretty nice combination of holy shit and safe (in that it shouldn't take him 15 tries to do it).

And I can't help it ... I'm a sucker for the dunk contest.

 

I hope the Slam Dunk Contest comes back from the dead. AI2 helped it with his variety of dunks, but last year it was a complete joke. This year, I hope no one gets screwed over too bad, but if I had to say, it would be Rudy Gay. He asked the fans for help in sending him videos and I am sure other dunkers saw them and might be borrowing from them as well. But I have it like this...

Did we ever institute the Nate Robinson rule? As in you're eliminated after the first 12 misses?

I just turned it on by accident and was not paying attention. But did Kevin Harlan just introduce Cheryl Miller as Cheryl Dean or some such name? I thought I heard something other than Cheryl Miller. Is she "married"?
