This list is insane. We've got at least a dozen locals on here, including one of those ex-Mets. Gotta forward this to our business reporters when I get in today.

This list has been public since last night, and all over the media and internet today. Wouldn't most business reporters already have it?

Follow the link in the piece and look at the list of private foundations. Some wiped out

And if you look at the list of 'Largest Donation Amount' for each of those foundations, almost every one was to a Jewish organization/school/charity.

One of the few times I regret that Jews don't believe in hell.

The Picower Foundation lost $1 Billion in the Madoff scam and was forced to close.."devastating impact on tens of thousands of lives"

One example: they were listed as one of the top four institutional donors to The Children's Health Fund in 2007.

The reach of this case is stunning to me.

saw a piece yesterday about a 90-year-old man having to get a job as a walmart greeter because he lost every penny to madoff.

There's a really good story on Madoff in the new Vanity Fairy. The writer was always disappointed that he couldn't invest with him. He was trying even the day that the news broke that it was all a scam. He talks to a lot of the victims.

And today I went to Google news and searched for his name for the years 2000-2007, to see what was written about him before the scandal.

From a Barron's story in 2001, which is mentioned in the V.F. story as being one of the rare skeptical articles.
