Ike's got an impressive look about him.

Ike has everyone in New Orleans ... well, those who stayed for Gustav; I haven't heard from anyone getting back into town yet ... on edge. Imagine that.

One NOLA weatherman said tonight there's a front moving through that has the possibility of moving Ike up the East Coast. While that's good for NOLA, that could be a very, very bad thing for FL, GA, SC, NC or VA. Ike is going to be one bad bitch-slapping mofo when he comes ashore. Already at 135 mph and still has a long way to go.

Last track update, at 11, has it bowing slightly more northward on the last projection point.

Hopefully, that is evidence of a bumping system to turn it.

This is the first scary one of the season.

No. They're all up here bitching how they had no toys for their kids.

Speak for yourself. Gustav was fairly scary Sunday afternoon and night when it was pounding the Caribbean with 150 mph winds and heavy rains.

The historical trends for September Cat. 3-4-5 storms that were within 400 miles of Ike is encouraging.

I'll take whatever positive news I can get.

I guess I've been watching these things long enough to see Jamaica and Cuba chew into the mph.

There is no such land hindrance to Ike.

    Glad you made it, Fuerte.
