Interesting note in WAPO story. Officer Wilson may have sustained
a fractured eye socket and X rays will be presented to the grand jury.

"The signs of easing tensions came as a family friend of the officer who fatally shot Brown came forward to offer a version of the incident with new details, saying that the officer suffered a fracture to his eye socket in a scuffle with the unarmed teenager before opening fire.

Hospital X-rays of the injury have been taken and will be shared with a grand jury that is weighing evidence to determine whether Officer Darren Wilson should be charged in the shooting, said the friend, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of fear of threats. The friend has been in contact with Wilson’s family members."

Sounds like there is an opportunity for some enterprising, young, go-getter, in Arizona, to start a new business training kids how to shoot Uzis.

    Could be very profitable.

If you ban 9-year-olds from using uzis, or even restrict their access, only 9-year-old criminals will have uzis, people.

I hope her first class assignment when school begins isn't an essay on what she did over the summer.

The Salt Lake incident seems to be picking up some steam among wingnuts, because the police chief described the offending officer as "nonwhite." Of course, this has been interpreted as another instance where shiftless niggers get the upper hand over aggrieved, deserving white folk.

What is not mentioned is that the reason that the officer's race was an issue in the first place was because the brother of the victim claimed that his brother was gunned down by the police because he was Hispanic, an attempt to place this incident in the Michael Ferguson/Trayvon Martin box.

I wonder if the wingnuts will reverse course when they realize that their new champion is not an aggrieved, deserving white person at all, but rather a shiftless, bean-eating spic whose family was actually attempting a move out of the nigger playbook.

Moving past the rhetoric-for-effect, it is fascinating how people will hop on a piece of a story, context be damned, if it serves to help inflame whatever passion they are stoking right now.

Taylor's family tried to turn him into the new Michael Brown, another minority gunned down by a white officer.

    Instead, he's a right-wing martyr.

Gotta work with the narrative you're dealt.

It wasn't until Trayvon Martin's killer was defined as (the first ever) white Hispanic, that it became a racially charged issue.

When does "money-pinching kike" come into play?
