Robert Cheruiyot wins his fourth Boston Marathon and just misses a course record with ideal weather conditions.

In the women's race, Dire Tune beats Alevtina Biktimirova in the closest women's finish in race history.

Oh, and Manny is out of the Sox lineup. Why?

Maybe he's running the marathon and he'll be late.

He'd admire the starter's pistol and would slow to get across the starting line.

If anything should have been a running thread, it should have been this one.

Lance Armstrong is on pace to run under 3 hours after never running longer than 14 miles in training. And he has a cut on one of his feet. He must have amazing tolerance for pain.

    Dire Tune?

Sounds like the name of William Hung's latest single.

Lance Armstrong ran a marathon last year, didn't he? New York, maybe?

He ran New York, correct. Good thing to see Cheriuyot back in races. He took that nasty fall in Chicago.

Lance qualified for Boston with his time in New York.

My friend finished 24th overall. Not too shabby.
