I can't believe it ... that thought made me smile a little. And I hate A-Rod as much as any ball player.

I sort of like the way Frank Thomas put it the other night.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/29/sports/baseball/29thomas.html

In an era tainted by allegations of steroid use, Thomas, who has often said he has never used steroids and was one of the first players to call for steroid testing, said he was proud he reached 500 the way he did. Thomas missed most of the 2004 and 2005 seasons with left-ankle injuries.

“It means a lot to me because I did it the right way,” said the 39-year-old Thomas. “I could care less what others have done.”

He comes with a 100,000 inning or 10 year warranty. Whatever comes first.

We've been running one below our standings (with his total and the pace for when he would tie the record and break it) since 745.

No chance in hell. He'll walk off the field and quit the morning after he hits 756. Why not? The Giants are in last place.

I hope all of you running graphics are using a cutout of the man's ridiculously oversized head.

    It's only fair...

Thank you! I thought I was going to be the only one in this thread that doesn't mind seeing Bonds break Aaron's record.

Bonds is starting to rub some sports journalist's noses in doo doo. How does it smell? Does it become stronger with each home run?

    Zeke12,

You didn't realize that that's the idea? Bonds wins and the haters lose. It's really pretty simple. Hate and lose. Enjoy and win.
Got it now? If not, we can go over it again later.

    Andrew Clapp > Barry Bonds.
