I liked how the Canadians immediately tried to pull the jerseys over the Mexican's heads.

Seriously though, after watching how their soccer fans act, it was completely unsurprising that the Mexico fans were throwing shit at the Canadians. At least nobody got hit with a bag of urine.

If Larry Walker and Matt Stairs were playing on that Canuckistani team they would have gone into the crowd or at worst ended up fighting each other after wiping the floor with the Mexicans.

I'm just glad Sergio Romo wasn't fighting.

Company line seems to be Mexico forgot about the WBC run differential rule in tiebreakers, which is why Canuckistan was bunting with a big lead.

Complete horseshit to not suspend the players:
"Because at least one club — and potentially both — will not advance to the second round, WBCI has determined that disciplinary measures would not have a meaningful corrective impact," the statement said.
Yes it would...it would show that if you fuck around, you will get tossed from the tourney. It's called setting a standard. Now, anytime a team on the ropes is getting their ass handed to them, they can just plunk guys, go in spikes up and not face anything because "they were out of the tourney soon anyway."

Larry Walker is a coach for Canada and was almost hit in the head with a ball thrown by a fan in the stands.

And Canada is going home. US rallied to win 9-4 today.

Total veg state while watching the Spanish telecast of DR v. PR on ESPN.

Has there ever been talk of starting an MLB team in the Caribbean? Would probably work best in the Dominican considering 10% of MLB'ers are from there. Or maybe when the Cuban embargo ends we start a team there. Is it economically or logistically feasible?

Shit, we let Canada have teams. At some point to we let a team into Mexico?

One in the AL and one in the NL...I wouldn't see a problem with it. A flight down there would be just like flying cross-country. Flying to the DR would be a bit tougher, but teams can afford it.

  10. Flying is easy. Tough to bring to enough revenue with sub-par stadiums in poor countries.

Mexico City could work, but would need an MLB-quality stadium.

Hiram Bithorn Stadium seats only 18K, Foro Sol (home of your Diablos Rojo del Mexico) seats 25K for baseball. What's MLB minimum?

The Marlins stadium seats 38K, with actual attendance of 38... does that count?
