How many runs did the score in the last two nights, 23? Scary for the Colorado staff that they are getting the bats going, 1-9. Crisp (great catch to end the game notwithstanding) needs to get comfy on the bench; Ellsbury just brings something to the table that few players do.

I have this suspicion that the NL is akin to the East in the NBA or the NFC in the NFL. Might not be the case, but I think if you look at the rosters, there is a lot more talent on Boston's. I'm not good at predictions, but I don't see Boston losing the series.

Should be luck of the draw. Other than it being cold, with the temps in the low 30s, the weather was actually pretty good for the Broncos' home game against the Steelers tonight.

    We've been through this before.

St. Louis was written off in '06.

Sox and their used-up bullpen -- they had Tim Effing Wakefield starting Game 1 of the World Series! -- were totally written off by many in '04.

Marlins were written off in '03.

    Etc.

Rule of thumb with the World Series... need to wait one game to get a feel for it before making any predictions.

I never saw a National League team winning the World Series when the playoffs began a year ago, either, so there's that.

I'll give that all the consideration it deserves.
