Rudy: "I'm one of the four or five best known Americans in the world."

LONDON (AP) - Rudy Giuliani was on the trans-Atlantic campaign trail Wednesday, schmoozing with conservative idol Margaret Thatcher and bragging about his international credentials.

"I'm probably one of the four or five best known Americans in the world," Giuliani told a small group of reporters at a posh London hotel as onlookers gathered in the lobby to gawk at actor Dustin Hoffman, who was on a separate visit.

Rudy's not even in the top 10. He's looking up at Bush, Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Oprah, Bill Clinton, Muhammad Ali, LeBron, Clint Eastwood, Pamela Anderson and the Olsen twins at least.
And people gave Al Gore crap about him (not) saying he invented the Internet.

    He'll . . . . regret that one.

    Dat's got legs.

He may be off, but you're crazy on LeBron James & Pamela Anderson. I think he's about right if you put the word "serious" in there, which he would have probably left out because it would have sounded even more pretentious than what he actually said.

Hell, he's not even the best-known Rudy. The Notre Dame dude is better known than him.

Ah, but he is well known for trampling on civil rights.

Well, if he said he is one of the best known fascists in the world, I wouldn't quibble.

But see, he didn't quantify it with serious. Yes, among serious Americans, be it political folks for the like, he's probably up there. But among all the Americans in the world, well, our culture exports some really vapid bullshitters, and the rest of the world just eats them up. And that pushes Rudy down the list.

LeBron James is posterized in Shanghai and Beijing, two places that would say “Who?” if you said “Rudy Giuliani.” The same would go for London, Frankfurt and pretty much the rest of the world. Pamela Anderson is much more recognizable and thus is more well known.

Rudy is clearly high on his own ego and a bit too dense to realize that the world doesn’t revolve around him.
