Did you ever hear the story about the roommate with either....

 

Get the rent money from him before it's too late. I recently kicked my roommate out. I'll never see the $1,500 his sorry ass owes me.

 

Take him/her out for a cup of coffee and calmly explain the situation. Say you consider this behavior irresponsible and if the behavior doesn't change, you'll have to find another roommate.
