Beat me by a few seconds Orville ...

Rocky IV had one of the best soundtracks of all-time ...

Hearts on Fire (my favorite ... cheesy in a way but very catchy)
    No Easy Way Out
    Burning Heart
    Training Montage (awesome intrumental)
War (love hearing this instrumental played as the Rocky-Drago fight builds to a climax)
    Living in America

... I'll pretend One Way Street never existed.

I'll second Rocky IV as the greatest motion-picture soundtrack. I'm listening to No Easy Way Out as I type this.

    We're not indestructible,
    baby better get that straight
    I think it's unbelievable
how you give into the hands of fate

Some things are worth fighting for some
    feelings never die
I'm not askin' for another chance
    I just wanna know why

There's no easy way out there's no shortcut
There's no easy way out givin' in can't be wrong

    I don't wanna pasify you
I don't wanna drag you down
but I'm feelin like a prisoner
like a stranger in a no named town

I see all the angry faces
afraid that could be you and me
talkin about what might have been
I'm thinkin about what I used to be

there's no easy way out there's no shortcut home
ther's no easy way out givin' in can't be wrong

Baby, baby we can shed this skin
we can know how we feel inside
instead of goin' down and endless road
not knowin if we're dead or alive

some things are worth fightin for
    some feelings never die
I'm not askin for another chance
    I just wanna know why

there's no easy way out there's no shortcut home
there's no easy way out givin in givin in can't be wrong no
there's no easy way out there's no shortcut home
there's no easy no easy no easy way out

    (repeat and fade)

That Rocky III was one of the best sequels ever because of the Mr. T factor. Somehow they were able to convey pure destruction with Mr. T.

Rocky IV was enjoyable simply because of the "Living in America" scene with James Brown.

This one actually sounds interesting. Will not rush out, but intriguing.

I saw Rocky I and II onDemand a couple of weeks ago and I was surprised how well Rocky had stood up to time. A little cheesy, a singing band of street thugs!!!, but still pretty timeless.
Rocky II, awful. Didn't bother with the rest.
Stallone created a masterpiece. Really, Rocky was his idea and he wrote it as well.

I remember Rocky in 1976. Great flick. Three scenes really hit me. The first time he has Adrienne in his house and the music is playing. The song is called "You take my heart away" sung by DeEtta Little and Nelson Pigford.
The second scene was at the end, when he tells her to stay in the lockerrom but she has to go out and watch him get the shit kick out of him. She closes her eyes but looks because that's her man in their fighting.
Of course the two saying those three magic words at the end, "I Love You" make this movie a tear jerker. Two rejects finding love and becoming one.
    Outfuckingstanding!!!

Strangely, this would not have come out of nowhere. From 1994-96, I lived in a ground-level apartment on a street corner in Brooklyn, and from time to time my wife (who worked the overnight shift at the AP General Desk) would be kept awake by guys doo-woppin' on the corner, like it was 1956.

    Here are the lyrics
DeEtta Little& Nelson Pigford - You Take My Heart Away
Touch me, take me in your arm, shelter me from harm,
let me love you for a million years or more,
I never felt this way before,
    before your dreams,
you take my heart away, away.

Love me, love me from your heart,
    let us never part,
bring me all the dreams you thought would never be,
    we'll make them all reality,
    just you and me,
you take my heart away, away.

    You're my dream come true,
    baby I love you,
    I confess I need ya,
I will never leave you alone,
    o I love you true,
    my whole world is you,
    I confess I need ya,
and I will never leave you alone.
You take my heart away, away.

    Touch me,
    take me in your arms,
    shelter me from harm,
let me love you for a million years or more,
I never felt this way before,
    before your dreams,
you take my heart away, away.

Love me, love me from your heart,
    let us never part,
bring me all the dreams you thought would never be,
    we'll make them all reality,
    just you and me,
you take my heart away, away.

    You're my dream come true,
    baby I love you,
    I confess I need ya,
I will never leave you alone,
    o I love you true,
    my whole world is you,
    I confess I need ya,
and I will never leave you alone.
You take my heart away, away.

You take my heart away, away.

    IT WAS AN OUTFUCKINGSTANDING SOUNDTRACK!!!!

    'Rocky' = good movie
'Rocky 2' = not very good
'Rocky 3' = So bad it's one of the funniest movies ever made
'Rocky 4 and 5' = So bad it went past funny and back to bad again

Our movie critic liked the new 'Rocky' movie. We're usually about 90 percent in agreement, but I'm not trusting him on this one.

    My analysis:

Rocky I - very good, but not a great movie. No way it should have won the Oscar, considering that Taxi Driver and Network were also nominated but I think voters liked the story about Sylvester Stallone.

Rocky II - hokey and contrived. Maybe 5 on a scale of 10.

Rocky III - I thought this was the best of the sequels - a lot of energy and Clubber Laing was a great character.

Rocky IV - It was something like 93 minutes and the only part that was worthwhile was James Brown's sequence. Bad movie.

Rocky V - The story was flimsy and obvious, but the fight scenes at the end redeem the movie and make it worth watching.

I don't know if I will see Rocky Balboa - maybe on a date with my wife if there is nothing else that we both agree is worth watching.
