Why can't they get a better beer to sponsor this team's stadium?

I thought you were going to say they couldn't show the games east of Texarkana.

I don't know where that is, but I thought this thread was about the blackout rules, too.

I've got no problem with Coors. If they want to sponsor me, I'm accepting offers.

Since I believe it's good to learn something daily, here's the deal on Texarkana. It's a city split between the Texas and Arkansas border, and the Coors reference is because it used to be illegal to ship Coors beer east of Texas.

Texarkana is also where the Bandit, Snowman and Fred were tasked to haul a semi of Coors to Atlanta.

So when they come east to play the Braves, do the Rockies play "Eastbound and Down" on the team plane?

You're a swell guy, AA. I'll be sure to store that away for a bar bet.

Eastbound and Down we're going to keep on truckin'
We're going to do what they say can't be done
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there
    something, something, something, Bandit run

    Yeah!

  10. That movie was shockingly un-PC at times. I believe the Sheriff said something like,

"First thing I'm going to do when I get home is punch your momma in the mouth".

And as has already been mentioned, the law about Coors beer was the premise for Smokey and the Bandit.
