    There is typically no statute of limitations for murder.

    None for murder in California, I believe.

    I feel like this story comes up every 5-10 years though.

    they only reopened the case a few years ago. They also changed the cause of death. This is the first time he has been named a person of interest. Not a nothing burger.

    OK that's what I'm remembering, is when they reopened the case.

    But prior to that a detective or ship's captain or someone else would say something and it would get renewed interest without the official steps.

    Yeah, for my money, the argument after she walked in on the two men getting down is the best story, therefore it's the one I'm believing.
