Riviera Maya

    If anyone has been there any suggestions on day trips, restaurants, etc. would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Yes, Tulum. As a general rule of thumb, the southern part of the Riviera Maya is the best. Cancun sucks. Plus, Cancun got nailed by the hurricane. Tulum didn't get it as badly. The only good thing in the Cancun environs is Isla de Mujeres. Otherwise, horseshit.

    When we've been to Cancun we stay on the hotel strip/family areas and do day trips and the like. The spring breakers don't stay in these places. We don't do Senor Frogs or downtown. I've got kids and they are on the beach all day and enjoy that.

    We are going to be south of there this time. I think about a half hour away. The other family we are going with still hasn't received the passports for their kids in the mail. They applied around the first of the year.
