Per Romenesko this morning. Interesting sale for Belo... also interesting to see if PE will get the Register treatment (more pages, more sections, etc.)

Not to be overly cynical, but if you were at the Press-Enterprise, how would you see this as a good thing?

I'd be thrilled to be wrong.

The sale must include a lot of real estate, because based on recent newspaper sales, hardly any paper is worth $27 mil.

Riverside was originally where Breaking Bad was supposed to take place.

    No land involved.

Judging from Kushner's track record, I would suspect this is a good thing for the PE peeps.

I'm not sure how could it be seen as a bad thing... Since Kushner took over the Register, the newsroom staff has almost doubled.

This is good news for Riverside, at least as long as Kushner can pay the bills. There shouldn't be any job losses in Riverside sports, since they had pretty much cut all staff coverage of pro and major college sports. The Register copy can run in the Riverside paper now.

...perhaps the most interesting angle to the story can be found in the comment from "h barca."
