He once gave his telephone number to my girlfriend at a haunted house in North Ridgeville, Ohio. Right in front of me like I was invisible. I said, "Not cool, dude." And he just chuckled.

Why did he die at 40?

One of my first gigs out of college was covering Ravens training camp. I got assigned a training camp story about him and was asking this 6-8, 350 pound man about his on-field incidents and his temper. He shoots back, "Man, I ain't got no temper!" and when I played back my tape I could hear myself in the background going, "I know, I know!" lol R.I.P.

I was about a second away from going, "I didn't say you did; it was him!"

That's who I thought of. He's got to be late 50s, sadly probably past the life expectancy for 70s-80s pro wrestlers.

True, but he really wasn't a wrestler for very long, was he? He was mostly an actor who wrestled for a while after that crappy movie with Hulk Hogan.

But yeah, that's who I thought of, too, when I saw the thread title.

nah don't think he lasted even 3 years in wwf. just thinking about guys who were popular late 70s through 80s and a lot are no longer around. it's almost like when you hear someone from that era in the news you think 'wow, he's still around.'
