    How absurd was 1968 in terms of pitching dominance and batting ineptitude? Gibson lost nine games while throwing to a 1.12 ERA. He made 34 starts, and his team scored ≤ 2 runs in 16 of them. Insane.

    I'd put Willie Mays there instead. He's now the oldest living Hall of Fame player and we seem to be alternating between pitchers and outfielders.
