If you had James Avery in your 2014 pool, I guess you win

    RIP.

Technically, I guess not since he died last night - not sure of the rules of those things because I find them a bit morbid. Anyway, I enjoyed that show for most of its run

To me, Uncle Phil means Phil Knight. Flags would be at half-staff for a month around Oregon if it had been THAT Uncle Phil.

He also played the DMV employee who gave Corey Haim's character his driver's license test in "License to Drive". The test was Avery's character put a hot cup of coffee on the dashboard, and Haim had to do various difficult things, such as parallel parking in a small space with a van's back door open and stop at the top at a huge hill without spilling the coffee.

    RIP

And yet Mike Jarvis is still alive and kicking at FAU.

RIP. Raised in Atlantic City, N.J. In fact, his mother still lives there.

Yes! I forgot about this! The cranky driving instructor.

And, to think, Uncle Phil and Corey Haim are now looking down on Corey Feldman...and smiling.

    RIP, Uncle Phil.

In tribute, we should all throw Jazzy Jeff out of our houses.

That bit never got old. Fantastic show, for most of its run.
