As a Giants fanboi I bought in to the "Will the Thrill" heroism; now I wish I had been a Gwynn fan the whole time. Its like weddings and funerals, sometime time gets in the way and I don't realize what I've been missing out on until its too late.

To the entire Gwynn family, you were so fortunate to have Mr. Gwynn in your life.

The Benito Santiago story was also fantastic.

The last player to be mentioned by Ted Williams.

Even since I read about how Williams encouraged Gwynn to drive the inside pitch it got me thinking if Gwynn could have hit for more home run power in his 20's? In 1986 Gwynn hit 14 home runs. Then in 1987, the so called juiced ball season, Gwynn only hit 7 home runs even though his BA, OBP, and SLG were much higher in 1987 than 1986.
