AP just moved the alert. He was 73. Two Academy Awards for "Out of Africa."

    Was great when he acted.

    Sopranos was a wonderful arc.

If you see his name, it probably good.

    Agreed.

Damn, now I'm going to have to go tell my wife. She always loved Pollack because he looked like my father-in-law, who died three years ago.

I just watched "The Firm" last night. Pretty good film thanks in part to Dave Grusin's arrangements and because of Pollack.

    RIP.

He was good in Michael Clayton as well.
I had no idea he was sick.

Made to play the weaselly attorney and agent type.

  9. I wonder if he knew he had cancer while he was doing his role on the Sopranos?

Did Johnny Sack die of stomach cancer on that show?

  10. I will also add that as far as I'm concerned - Jeremiah Johnson was his masterpiece.

F.R.E.A.K.Y. I finished watching that episode about 20 minutes ago. Mrs. tbf fires up the old computator and says, "Damn. Sydney Pollack died today. Cancer."

Johnny Sack died of lung cancer.

I always liked him as the father on Will & Grace. Coupled with Blythe Danner on the show, they made a great comedic pair.
