    Founding member of the band dies at age 65 from cancer. RIP

    He was one of US, but now he's one of THEM.

    Wow... I suppose I shouldn't be shocked that the stars of the 70s and 80s are getting on in years, and in some cases checking out, but... wow. Shine on, Rick, and say hi to Syd.

    One of the best things that even happened to Wright was Roger Waters firing him during "The Wall" sessions. Waters brought him back as hireling for the tour, and Wright was the only one to make money because he wasn't in hock for the tour costs.

    Of course, he needed the money, what with the raging coke addiction that got him fired.
