RIP Pamela Snow Hinton (wife of Ed Hinton)

    Also worked in PR for various NASCAR drivers, including Darrell Waltrip and Dale Earnhardt. Dead from cancer at age 59:

    It was a long battle, and one she fought heroically. My thoughts are with Ed, whom I adore despite my getting on his nerves more than once in media centers around the country.

    Never met or even heard of her, but have sat in a bunch of press boxes with Ed.
    Totally RIP.

    (that explains why he hasn't had anything new on ESPN.com in a while)

    Awful news. And that makes two wives of NASCAR writers who have died. Don Coble's wife died a few years back.

    That was beautiful. Reminds me of my mom (who died of cancer) and my girlfriend at the same time.

    I have tears in my eyes now, and I will again when I see Ed at Indy. Wow. A wonderful life, wonderfully told.
