Two coaching legends of the Pacific Northwest died yesterday.

Harshman left Washington State's basketball team to coach Washington (sure that went over well, especially since the Cougs were coming of a 2-14 conference record) and went on to coach UW to four 20 win seasons and three NCAA tourneys with one sweet 16.

Before Wazzu, Harshman coached at Pacific Lutheran where he also coached the football team.

Westering was a legend at PLU (213-55) won an NCAA DIII football title, and went 3-4 in NAIA DII title games. Amazing coach, as exemplified in SI 20 years ago.
