This vote was clearly to stick it to The Dolan's who have not been good stewards
of the property in relation to what it means to the overall city.

Penn Station is a rat maze and it should be rebuilt.

I'd try for a Skyline or Montgomery Inn first anyway.

The Dolans were very very rich and owning the Garden has made them much much richer.

Let them pay for a new arena out of their own goddamn pockets. Every goddamn nickel.

Not to worry, they'll have plenty left over.

Starman,

You do realize the renovations were done with private money, right?

7. Elliotte,

You do realize MSG gets a $16 million per year property tax break, right?

Yes. As they should be.

The renos cost more than a billion dollars, Captain Obvious. That property tax break ($48M over three years) is a drop in the bucket.

I'm not sure I've ever heard someone defend The Dolans.

Come on.. Elliott cut his teeth on Harold Ballard... The Dolans look like Bill Davidson by comparison.

It's not a position I'm entirely comfortable with, Boom. But the fact is he did it privately (minus the one tax break CO mentioned). And he's going to make a fortune on it.
