No link yet. But I just heard that she passed away. She had gone in for a procedure and ended up hospitalized.

I was sweating just now. ... Kept looking for a link and nothing. CNN has a banner now confirming that she died according to her daughter.

AP tweeted it out, citing a statement from Melissa:

Oh, goody. Three or four days of reading about what a meaningful influence Joan Rivers was on their lives, and how much this one hurts, and on and on.

Her scene with Louie CK was so good. Not so much when she says, OK, fuck it, let's fuck, but the comic-talk -- i.e. "it's a calling" -- leading up to Louie making a pass at her. That was good TV.

She was pretty damn funny and very quick.

Are you arguing she wasn't influential, or that you're weary of the way we "celebrate" (for lack of a better term) death in this country?

Loved her. I saw her open for Rickles twice. She was fucking great.

If you haven't seen her documentary, it's nothing short of fascinating.

    RIP to a legend.

I wonder how frequently they will give her gravestone a face lift?

    I would say A1.

She's a legend. And the current crop of female comedians all worshipped her.

I feel very fortunate that I saw her perform. Rickles plays the casino around here all the time. I have no idea why, because it's not a big one, but he's been here six times in the 11 years I've lived here and I've seen four of the shows. The two with Rivers were just tremendous.
