    Great post, Maumann, and you're right. the '68 Series does tend to get forgotten.

    I remember the series.. second grade.. the nuns had the TV's on in every room, so when it came time to change classrooms, we went and watched the game on the different grainy black and white TVs.

    A few years back, George Cantor wrote a book titled "The Tigers of '68" - a must-read for any Tigers fan. He was the Detroit Free Press' beat writer that year. I recently re-read it. Ah, the memories. Jim Northrup was one of the guys he interviewed (no, he didn't interviewed Denny McLain, who made a disparaging remark that season about George's religion).
