Steak is a good guy and solid poster aside from his intellectual dishonesty on
all things SEC :). He's just had a bad run the last few days. Hope that he understands that it's all in good fun.

Fuck you all. No seriously, it's all good.

And back to the issue at hand, as a Braves fan, Fregosi is a HUGE loss for the organization. A lot of the useful free-agent scrap heap pick-ups for the Braves the last few years (Eric O'Flaherty, Ben Sheets, Freddy Garcia, Elliot Johnson, Juan Francisco) have been acquired based on Fregosi's recommendations as an advance scout.

Hey they fucked up Truman's death back in the day, so don't sweat it.

Nelson Mandela was dead three or four times around here.

I'd take a lock at this point if it would spare me the sanctimony of 3OF.

    It's an affectation.
Really sorry I have to spell that out, by now.

You're still cool, Steak. No worries, pard.

I remember him, first, as skipper of some pretty mediocre White Sox teams. I was in Pennsylvania in 1993 and was pulling for him in the World Series.

Someone earlier mentioned his stint in Louisville. Good call. He contributed to the resurgence of the big club in St. Louis. RIP.

I ran into Fregosi in the stands at a Jays game in 2002, just after Buck Martinez (who had replaced him as Jays manager) had been fired himself. Fregosi had just started working for the Braves, I think, and was sitting with another scout or somebody.

I struck up a conversation with him, said I loved him when he was in Toronto, and asked him why he thought Martinez got fired. Without missing a beat and without knowing me from a hole in the wall, he said:

"Well he got fired because he wasn't any fucking good!"

Just seemed like a guy who would talk to anybody about anything.
