I started a thread in AG on Jamel/Jamal. He had a lot of fun reacting to the Van Halen videos.

In 10th grade I really wanted to date a hot girl named Wendy. One day a couple of my friends said to her, "Our guy Splendid would really like to date you." Her immediate reply: "Tell him when he looks like Edward Van Halen I will consider it."

Keith Richards is like rock and roll's version of Abe Vigoda.

We're going to have to disagree on this one.
I do think Prince is one of the top MUSICIANS ever.
He could play any instrument you set in front of him.
I still remember an interview someone did with Dave Grohl, who is a very good musician as well. They asked him if Prince was a better guitar player than he was......he said Prince was a better drummer than he was.

Running with the Devil was playing the first time I got stoned. I'd smoke before but it never really hit. Was it the song?

Start where it all began: "Eruption"

(Well, technically Running with the Devil came first, but Eruption was the mind blowing, eye opening first OMG moment).

My peer group in high school were musicians. I'm not. I loved prog rock (ELP, Yes, King Crimson). They did not. They loved Kiss and Aerosmith. I did not.

But we all loved Van Halen.

    RIP, Eddie.

I saw VH open for the Stones at the Superdome in N'Awlins in '78. It was a helluva show, even with limited material. Eddie was the real deal.

    Rest, Rocker.
