RIP Don Carter

    I was the bowling columnist in my first job, and I was the king of that town.

    Don Carter lanes were all over South Florida.

    Having grown up where I did, and seen its importance in other communities, you will never hear me knock bowling as something that's got to be covered by the local paper.

    To me, bowling remains THE participatory sport that should get its due in a daily newspaper. And BTW, Don Carter played no small part in getting it to that point.
