    Coulda, shoulda won multiple times but much like Buddy Baker, was fast but rarely finished. That black Interscope No. 25 car was instantly recognizable on the track.

    Had great success as a drag racer long before oval tracks. And set speed records on the salt flats.

    Two massive incidents derailed a promising career, and then he came out of retirement to drive in 1996 when polesitter Scott Brayton was killed in practice.
