    Nice thing about print - if people don't know him now, they can go back and understand why he is so revered. Didn't realize he also wrote the screenplay to "Tom Horn" for Steve McQueen.

  7. I read an obit today that said he and Cartwright used to room together and that their place was the after-the-bars-closed HQ. It also said that Jack Ruby used to hang out there.
    I didn't have any notion that he and Ann Richards were a couple.
    This was one cool cat.
